Hello! I’m Avery.
My Personal Journey to Wellness
Like many of my clients today, when I was in my early twenties, I experienced confusion around health. Societies version of heath seemed to me as an appearance rather than a feeling. I spent most of my twenties chasing this ‘healthy’ standard society places on us.
Shortly after graduating college, I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. Only then was I able to recognize this ‘healthy’ standard was not serving me and pushing me away from my own inner peace. Due to my diagnosis, I suffered from hormonal acne, fatigue, brain-fog, and gut issues including SIBO.
I was a teacher at the time and could no longer serve in taking care of children, as I could not take care of myself. After transitioning out of my teaching career I learned the importance of food not only on the plate but how other factors in life are just as important if not more than the physical plate in front of us. I began to practice tools with stress managements, such as breathing exercises, somatic movement, grounding and more. I also learned the ‘why’ behind eating certain foods. This helped me fuel myself in a way that made sense. Learning the why allowed me to eat food that made me feel good for my individual body and that no one body is the same. What we need is completely bio-individual to ourself and once I could tap into my own intuition and really listen to what my body was telling me, I discovered an entirely new journey to health and wellness.
I am a certified Health Coach and graduate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN)

This concept revolves around five elements in Ayurveda-earth, water, fire, air, and ether (or space).-and how they relate to our dosha and taste. These elements are not just abstract concepts, they are woven into the very fabric of our existence, governing our physical and mental states.

Doshas are three categories of biological energies that govern the physical and mental process of the human body and mind. The three Doshas are named; Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and are believed to be responsible for the person's physiological, mental, and emotional health.
